Dear Esteemed Faculty, Staff, Students, Families, and Community Members,

 

Reflecting on the remarkable journey we have shared at Southwest DeKalb High School during the past ten years, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for our community's collective achievements and enduring spirit. Today, I have the distinct honor of not only expressing my heartfelt appreciation but also sharing the exciting news that marks a new chapter in our school's history and my service as the principal. 

 

First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each member of our Southwest DeKalb High School family – our dedicated faculty and staff, our bright and talented students, and our supportive parents, guardians, and community members. Together, we have celebrated numerous milestones, from academic achievements to artistic triumphs, athletic victories to acts of kindness and service. Each accomplishment is a testament to the exceptional talent, resilience, and spirit that define Southwest DeKalb High School.

 

In the spirit of new beginnings, I am thrilled to share that I will assume a new role as the district's Area Superintendent of High Schools effective June 1, 2024. While I am excited about this opportunity to serve our broader educational community, I want to assure you that my commitment to Southwest DeKalb remains unwavering. I am deeply vested in our school's continued success and well-being. In my role as the Area Superintendent of High Schools, I will continue to oversee all leadership operations at Southwest DeKalb High School until the position is filled. I look forward to supporting our faculty, staff, students, and community in new and meaningful ways.

 

With your continued support and dedication, I am confident that Southwest DeKalb High School will continue to shine brightly as a beacon of academic achievement, personal growth, and community engagement. I am deeply grateful for the relationships we have built, the memories we have shared, and the transformative impact we have made together.
